Lot Description
A mid Victorian memorial brooch. The oval-shape brooch with gold-tone scrolling outer edge and applied leaf detail, gold-tone lettering to the black enamel reading 'In memory of' and a personal inscription to the reverse, to the central oval-shape glazed woven hair panel. Length 4.5cms. Weight 16gms.

Condition Report
The condition of this lot is fair. The glazed panel has dirt and dust beneath it, consistent with age. The enamel has dints and scratches to the surface. The inscription to the reverse reads 'John Hinkley died Dec 26th 1851 aged 72yrs. Also, of Sarah Hinkley died Septr 27th 1854 Aged 76yrs'.
