A late Victorian gold, diamond and coral star brooch, circa 1880. The old and rose-cut diamond ten ray star, with circular coral cabochon surround. Old-cut diamond estimated weight 0.30ct, I-J colour, P2 clarity. Diameter 2.5cms. Weight 8.5gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Later brooch fitting and visible soft solder, the piece appears to have originally been a clasp.
<li>Coral and diamonds appear to be replacements.
<li>Possibly put together from various late Victorian components.
<li>Significant chip visible to principal diamond, possibly effecting the durability of the diamond.
<li>Diamonds fairly well matched.
<li>Diamonds fairly bright.<p>
<li>Chips visible to some rose-cut diamonds with magnification.
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Coral fairly well matched, patchy colour and natural inclusions easily visible with the unaided eye.
