A 19th century Continental portrait of Christ,
Depicted as the 'Agnus Dei' (Lamb of God),
the haloed figure reclining holding a lamb,
oil on canvas, unsigned,
20.5" x 26.25", (52cm x 66.5cm),
in later gilt frame.

Canvas is coarse, hessian-type weave. Small area of possible repainting to centre left (dark stain to reverse, and canvas feels stiffer at this spot). Small hole to lower centre, level with hem of cloak. Has been cleaned some years ago  -weave of canvas quite prominent. Modern fluted gilt frame.
