Condition Report
In varied condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The swing-handled basket has a minor split along a join in the pierced border, some loss of definition to the decoration and edges, the clear glass liner has remnants of a white sticker to the base with minor chips to the shaped rim. Heavier areas of tarnishing to the bowls and stems of the salad servers. The pierced sugar tongs are engraved with the initials 'S S', visible signs of filing along the outer stem which appear slightly bent, hallmarked only with the lion passant and maker's mark 'W T' possibly William Theobalds, assumed London. The silver vesta case has an initial engraved cartouche, the hinged lid does not sit fully flush. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but legible.
