Lot Description
An Edwardian silver inkstand, the curved oblong form with a silver mounted square cut-glass inkwell and a pen recess, the hinged lid with engraved initials and rope-twist border, further initials to the obverse of the lid, the whole raised upon four splayed feet. Hallmarked A & J Zimmerman Ltd (Arthur & John Zimmerman), Birmingham 1907. Maximum width measures exclusive of feet 7 inches (18 cm), weight of stand exclusive of ink pot 7.96 ozt (247.5 grams).

Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The initials to the top of the lid are 'J. R. B' and 'W H J I?' to the obverse, remnants of polish visible, minor nibbles to the outer body of the glass inkwell, visible inner fracture to recess of the inkwell leading to the silver collar which has areas of heavier tarnishing. Hallmarks clear and legible.
