Lot Description

An Edwardian silver travelling case, the plain cylindrical form with screw on removable lid having ribbed border and possibly once fitted with a brush. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co., London 1901. Maximum height measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm), weight 1.87 ozt (58 grams).

The case displays some expected general tarnishing, wear, surface marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Sticker mark to base. The interior of the lid has residues of glue and evidence that it was originally fitted with something, maybe a shaving brush or similar? Hallmarked to both parts, some rubbing but all still legible.
