Condition Report
In poor to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The curved cigarette case has dents, bumps and scratches throughout and the monogram is heavily rubbed with remnants of polish and oily residue inside. Some loss of definition to the engine-turned decoration, the 1930's example is engraved with Reuggie? to the cartouche and has a gap to the top of the case and near the hinge but push button mechanism still shuts. The Joseph Gloster example requires attention as it has become squashed and no longer shuts with the two pieces overlapping and the hinge coming away slightly, it is engraved with 'Sep. 1922' and 'W. C. J'. Maker's mark to the 1930's example is worn possibly R?, all other hallmarks clear and legible.
