Lot Description
A late Victorian silver vesta case, of oblong form with foliate engraving surrounding a monogrammed shield cartouche, hallmarked William M Hayes, Birmingham 1899, height measuring 2 inches (5 cm). Together with a 1920's silver vesta case, of oblong form with engraved scroll decoration surrounding a vacant cartouche, hallmarked Rolason Brothers, Birmingham 1924, a modern silver pill box depicting a painted scene of motor racing, two circular silver pill boxes, a small compartmentalised spice box embossed with fruits and vegetables, a Tiffany & Co silver plated card case, etc. Gross weighable silver 3 ozt (94 grams).

Condition Report
In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Strikers in good condition on the vesta cases, maker's mark on the Victorian example has been double struck, the 1920's example does not shut fully flush, minor loss of definition to the engraved decoration. The cat pill box is marked with convention hallmarks, with heavier tarnishing to the decoration and edges. The Tiffany & Co card case is engraved with the initials 'C S F P'. Hallmarks clear and legible.
