In overall fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The larger of the Edwardian vesta cases is engraved with '21 B.J.B A.W.S.', the hinged lid has become slightly squashed and dented causing it to not sit flush, visible wear to opposing ends of the striker. The smaller Edwardian example has a vacant cartouche with multi dents and bumps to the case, the hinged lid does not shut flush. The 1912 example is engraved with 'JJ' to the circular cartouche. The circular box has a vacant cartouche to the hinged lid and engraved with the letter 'M' to the obverse, the lid does not open and close smoothly, appears to stick slightly, minor dents and bumps to the case. The hinged lid of the sovereign case stays open, push button mechanism requires attention, opens to reveal a dual aperture for full and half sovereigns, double struck to the front full sovereign with possible French assay marks. The plated vesta case is engraved 'J R Y'. Remnants of polish visible. Hallmarks clear and legible.
