Lot Description
A pair of early 19th century Continental gold, Colombian emerald and diamond earrings. Each designed as a giardinetti, the drilled emerald pear-shape bead, with rose-cut diamond cap and floral surmount. Length 3.3cms. Weight 13.1gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>One hook fitting appears replacement base metal.
<li>One diamond deficient.
<li>Diamonds are foil back and appear fairly well matched.
<li>Foil backs show deterioration appearing somewhat yellow and/or whitish.
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Emeralds are a well matched deep medium slightly bluish green hue. Profuse inclusions, some surface reaching. One emerald has a small surface cavity.
<li>Some of the surface reaching inclusions appear yellowish.
<li>Emeralds with significant abrasions.
<li>Approximate dimensions of emeeralds 12.5 by 10.2 by 7mms and 12.7 by 9.8 by 7.2mms
<li>Hinged hook fittings for pierced ears.
<li>Length stated does not include the hook fittings, total length 4 to 4.2cms.
