Lot Description

A pair of late Victorian silver bud vases, each of tapered form with a weighted circular base having lobed decoration, embossed with floral garlands to the main body below a rope-twist border and flared crimped rim. Hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1897 and 1899. Height measuring 5 1/4 inches (13.3 cm).

The vases are quite tarnished and would benefit from a clean. Also displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches. Some small knocks and dints around the base rims. Further minor dints and some visible seam lines. Repair to one vase around the base of the stem. Bases need to be relined. Hallmarks appear a little rubbed but still clearly legible.
