Lot Description

An Edwardian silver twin-handled cup and cover of mid-eighteenth century style, the lower body profusely decorated with applied alternating floral garlands and masks upon a stippled background and applied reed and shell girdle, the twin acanthus capped scrolling handles similarly decorated. Hallmarked James Wakely & Frank Clarke Wheeler, London 1903. Height measuring 13 3/4 inches (35 cm), weight 101 ozt (3142 grams).
