Lot Description
A Japanese silver three piece bachelor tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each of bulbous form and heavily decorated in relief with dragons amid crashing waves, dragons also forming all the handles and teapot spout, the removable teapot lid having conforming decoration and chrysanthemum finial, circa 1900. All marked to the base with character marks and a heron within a circle and a further character mark to the main body. Height of teapot measures 6 7/8 inches (17.5 cm), gross weight 33.29 ozt (1035.4 grams).

Condition Report
All the pieces displaying general tarnishing, surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age. Some dints and bumps. Various repairs are visible to the main body of the teapot and around join of flower finial to lid. Further small repair visible to main body of sugar bowl and around some of the joins on both the sugar and cream jug.
