Lot Description

A nineteenth century American silver tazza by Tiffany & Co., the shallow bowl with personal name inscription to the underside and raised on three shell mounted hoof feet and triform plinth base. Marked to the underside Tiffany & Co, 2277, quality 925-1000, 398 Union Square and the maker's mark for J. C. Moore. Height measuring 9 inches (23 cm), weight 30 ozt (937 grams).

The tazza displays some quite heavy tarnishing throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Otherwise appears in fairly good overall condition with expected general surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. A few shallow surface dints and bumps to the bowl and several heavier scratches and nicks to the bowl interior. The name engraving to the underside of the bowl is 'Mary Douglas'. The marks to the underside are clear and legible.​
