A George III silver Old English pattern basting spoon with initialled terminal. Hallmarked George Smith II, London 1798. Length measuring 11 3/4 inches (30 cm), weight 3.5 ozt (109 grams).

The spoon displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Wear to the striking edge and tip of the bowl, wear also visible to the heel and engraved initial. Hallmarks are clear and legible.
