Lot Description
A late Victorian set of twelve silver teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs in a staggered fitted case, each with bright-cut floral stems. Hallmarked James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin), Sheffield 1898. Gross weight 8.4 ozt (262.2 grams).

Condition Report
The spoons and sugar tongs are in good condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Vacant cartouches to the spoon terminals. Hallmarks clear and legible. The fitted case is in poor condition and in need of repair, the wood of the hinged lid is split to the front and back coming away from the lining, currently stuck together with sellotape. Pins missing and coming away from the two hinges. The interior has staggered indents for the cutlery and is lined with green material including a small sticker with the registration mark 223711.
