A pair of George III silver Old English pattern sauce ladles, hallmarked Thomas Chawner, London 1773, length measuring 7 inches (18 cm). Together with two further George III silver sauce ladles, hallmarked Peter & Ann Bateman, London 1791 and Richard Crossley, London 1791. Gross weight 5.9ozt (185 grams).

In varied state. The pair of ladles appear with wear to the striking edge and one with a nick. 1791 example with initialled terminal. All displaying general wear, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hallmarks to the 1773 pair are distorted.
