Lot Description

Victorian silver butt markers and case, the rectangular hinged case with pendant loop opening to reveal eight numbered markers with ball finials. Hallmarked Birmingham 1899, makers mark indistinct. Height measuring 2 1/4 inches (5.5 cm).

The case does have general scratches, marks and tarnishing, there are a few dints and the body has become quite concave in shape. The finials to the makers all show some damage with dints and holes, each individual marker is not hallmarked, the hallmarks are positioned to the rim and are a little rubbed but clearly legible, the makers mark is distorted and not legible.
