Lot Description

A 1930's silver match holder, the engine-turned rectangular form with canted sides and push button mechanism, hallmarked Adie Brothers Ltd., Birmingham 1931. Width measures 6.3 cm, weight 36.3 grams.

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The silver-gilt interior is slightly dull and worn to the inner corners with some heavier scratches. Shuts fully flush but a slight over hang between the two covers by the push mechanism. Hallmarks clear and legible, some rubbing to the maker's mark.
