Lot Description

A pair of Victorian silver mounted candlesticks, the oval fluted base with reeded rims, rising to the tapering columns conforming in style, hallmarked Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd, Sheffield 1899, maximum height measuring 7.2 inches (18 cm). Together with a pair of early twentieth century silver mounted candlesticks, hallmarked Williams Ltd Birmingham 1910, maximum height measuring 7 6/8 inches (19.6 cm), A/F. (2).

The lot displays general scratches and wear. Heavy tarnishing. Unable to remove nozzles. The second pair display further wear with a soft solder repair below one of the sockets results in a loss of height, the loading to this pair has also begun to drop and they therefore wobbles. Hallmarks overall are a little distorted but overall legible.
