Lot Description
A 1930's silver ladies cigarette case, of engine-turned rectangular form, the sprung loaded push mechanism opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior with personal inscription, hallmarked Joseph Gloster Ltd., Birmingham 1939, width measures 3 2/8 inches (8.3 cm). Together with a silver vesta case, the oblong form engraved with scroll motifs and initialled to the central cartouche, hallmarked John Millward Banks, Chester 1900, a small heart-shaped screw top perfume phial, stamped 925 alongside P S, a silver key ring, etc.

Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The cigarette case is engraved 'Elizabeth 22.9.39' to the interior top left corner. Sprung platform in good working order and shuts fully flush. The hinged cover to the vesta is slightly loose when shut, engraved 'B B' to the cartouche, striker a bit clogged. Loss of definition to the decoration and small area of filing visible to one side. John Millward Banks trademark flower present on the inner rim of the vesta. Key ring number 006 to reverse, and stamped 925 alongside hallmarks for Birmingham. Clip badge is engraved 'In token of service to the mark province of London' on the obverse and ' W. Bro. G. A. Johnson PGS Twd 2012', stamped 925. Hallmarks are all clear and legible.
