Lot Description
A late Victorian plain silver box, the elongated elliptical form having a gadrooned rim to the hinged lid. Hallmarked Deakin & Francis Ltd., Birmingham 1898. Maximum length measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), weight 3.45 ozt (107.3 grams).

Condition Report
The box appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches. Also some tarnishing and residues of polish. Heavier contact marks and nicks around edges and to base. The hinges appear in good working order, however the lid does remain slightly raised when in the closed position. Hallmarks are clear and legible, also part hallmarks to lid.
