A nineteenth century Russian silver snuff box, the oblong form decorated in niello depicting a walled town and opening to a silver-gilt interior. Russian assay marks for Moscow, alongside the standard mark of 84 and Cyrillic maker's mark. Length measuring 5.5 cm, weight 38.6 grams.

The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. Some rubbing with a little loss of definition. Gilding a little discoloured to the interior, also with some heavier scratches to the inner lid. Russian assay marks are obscured. Hinge in good working order.
