Lot Description

An Edwardian silver single candlestick, the filled and shaped square base rising to a baluster stem and socket with a removable circular nozzle, and decorated throughout with floral, foliate and scroll motifs. Hallmarked Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield 1902. Height measuring 9 1/2 inches (24 cm).

The candlestick appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear, tarnishing, surface marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Residues of polish to certain areas and residues of wax to interior of socket. Knocks to neck of nozzle. Base needs to be re-lined. Hallmarks are clear and legible including part hallmarks to nozzle.
