Lot Description

A George IV silver-gilt chamberstick, the circular base embossed in high relief with floral scrolls rising to the knopped urn shaped socket, acanthus capped scrolling handle with detachable nozzle and snuffer. Hallmarked John & Thomas Settle, Gunn & Co, Sheffield 1826. Base diameter measuring 3 1/2 inches (8.8 cm), weight 3.2 ozt (101.6 grams).

In very good overall condition. Displaying light general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. A little wear to the gilding on the high points. Hallmarks clear and legible, marks also to the detachable nozzle and snuffer.
