A late 19th century Scottish, citrine and split pearl brooch. The oval-shape citrine, with split pearl and bead highlight scrolling foliate engraved surround. Marked 'Muirhead & Sons, Sutherland gold'. Length 5.6cms. Weight 21.5gms.

Condition Report
<li> Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. <p>
<li> Base metal replacement pin. <p>
<li> Citrine protrudes the reverse of the setting and rubs against the brooch pin. <p>
<li>Estimated dimensions of citrine 28 by 21 by 22mms.
<li> Engraved to the reverse "Muirhead & Sons, Sutherland gold". <p>
<li> Citrine medium slightly brownish-orange, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. A fairly large and obvious window can be seen to the centre of the citrine. <p>
<li> Split pearls creamy-white with some pink and green overtones with fairly good lustre. <p>
<li> Stones in good to fair condition with minor abrasions. <p>
