Lot Description

A cultured pearl three-row necklace. Comprising three-strands of forty-nine, fifty-two and fifty-four cultured pearls, measuring 6.7 to 5.7mms, with Art Deco synthetic ruby and diamond geometric clasp. Estimated total diamond weight 1.30cts. Length 43.5cms.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. <p>

<li> Cultured pearls possibly later than clasp. <p>

<li> Cultured pearls measuring 5.7 to 6.75mms. <p>

<li> Cultured pearls fairly well matched with slightly yellow-creamy white colour and rose overtones, showing a fairly good lustre.

<li> Cultured pearls in mostly good condition, with some slight abrasion. A few have more significant wear, with some peeling and patches of nacre deficient. <p>

<li> Synthetic ruby slightly patchy bright to fairly bright pinkish-red, well to fairly saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions, including curved growth lines.<p>

<li>Diamonds fairly well matched. <p>

<li> Diamonds bright.<p>

<li> A few diamond show some slight inclusions with the naked eye. <p>

<li> Most diamonds show light and dark coloured inclusions that can be seen easily under magnification. <p>

<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li> Ruby and diamonds in fairly good to fair condition with minor abrasions, some facet edges to the synthetic ruby show slight wear, with some nibbles and small chips to some diamonds.<p>

<li> Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source. <p>
