Lot Description
A late 19th century silver and gold synthetic ruby, diamond and pearl pendant. Of openwork design, the oval-shape synthetic ruby and old-cut diamond cluster, with old-cut diamond scrolling surround, old-cut diamond bow surmount and pearl drop. Estimated total diamond weight 2.80cts, H-J colour, SI1-P2 clarity. Length 7cms. Weight 18.8gms. Pearl untested.

<li>Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Synthetic ruby is replacement, wear to the claws, slightly ill-fitting to the mount.
<li>Diamonds well matched.
<li>Diamonds bright, some with dark inclusions and fine fractures. Some have surface reaching fractures. Some have large chips.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Synthetic ruby reddish pink hue.<p>
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
