Lot Description

A 1950s diamond and synthetic ruby brooch. Comprising two old-cut diamond and synthetic ruby cabochon highlight flowers, with scrolling foliate accents, gathered to a similarly-cut diamond line bow. Estimated total diamond weight 0.55ct. Egyptian marks. Length 8.5cms. Weight 32.1gms.

<li>Diamonds fairly bright.<p>

<li>Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.

<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Synthetic ruby medium pinkish purple, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>

<li>One synthetic ruby with elongated gas bubbles inclusions.

<li>Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the surface.

<li>One diamond with chip to the table facet.

<li>Egyptian marks to the back.
