Lot Description

A late Victorian 18ct gold sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Of marquise-shape outline, the cushion-shape sapphire, with old-cut diamond surround. Estimated total diamond weight 0.25ct. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1889. Ring size K1/2. Weight 3.5gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/wear and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Band shows a slight discolouration and several markings inside the band.

<li>Band has a personal date engraving of 1907.

<li>Diamonds well matched.

<li>Diamonds bright.<p>

<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Sapphire is a medium blue, well saturated, with good clarity, colour zoning and typical inclusions.<p>

<li>Sapphire is in good condition with minor abrasions to the facet edges.<p>

<li>Length of ring head 2cms.
