Lot Description

An Edwardian 15ct gold split pearl brooch. The oval-shape amethyst, with demantoid garnet quatrefoil and split-pearl halo. Length 2.8cms. Weight 4gms. This piece has the colours commonly associated with the Suffragette movement.

<li> Amethyst fairly dark well saturated, with fair clarity and light coloured typical inclusions.<p>

<li> Green gems very bright, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions.<p>

<li> Split-pearls slightly discoloured creamy-white, with muted to fair lustre. <p>

<li> Stones in mostly good condition with minor abrasions. some slightly more significant abrasions can be seen to some facet edges, one green gem has a fairly noticeable chip. <p>
