Lot Description

A late Victorian silver and gold, pearl and diamond brooch. Designed as a spider, the baroque pearl body, with rose-cut diamond head and limbs. Length 3.4cms. Weight 7.8gms. Pearls untested.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>The brooch fitting is soft soldered to the body of the spider and both rotate slightly to the legs.

<li>Wear to some mounts.

<li>Diamonds well matched.


<li>Individual cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>


<li>Pearls untested for natural origin.

<li>The pearls are in closed back settings, unable to determine is the pearls have been shaped or damaged.

<li>The pearls are a well matched creamy white hue with good lustre and significant surface pitting.
