Lot Description
A late Victorian gold diamond foil-back garnet pendant. Of openwork design, the old-cut diamond and foil-back garnet cabochon quatrefoil with foliate sides, set atop interwoven loops, suspended from a grooved belcher-link chain. Length of pendant 6cms. Length of chain 42cms. Weight 34.2gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Surface scratches / discolouration and minor dents, in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Surmount with abrasion and dent.
<li>Reverse is noticeably discoloured.
<li>Glazed panel to centre of reverse.
<li>Foil-back garnets are slightly loose in mount and may require attention.
<li>Diamond is bright.<p>
<li>Estimated diamond weight under 0.10ct.<p>
<li>Size of diamond prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Foil-back garnets appear a deep slightly brownish red, with typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Foil-back garnets are in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the surface edges.<p>
