A large Chinese carved soapstone incense burner. Of bulbous form, the domed cover surmounted by a kylin finial over archaic characters and beasts, the body decorated with horse-drawn carriages between zoomorphic ring handles on three stylised paw supports, the whole of green soapstone beneath mottled purple colouration, 19.25", (49cm) high.
