Lot Description

A fine Victorian inlaid satinwood cabinet on stand by Wright & Mansfield (c.1860-1886), the upper stage having a swan neck pediment over inlaid bell flower swags and ribbons, the arch glazed central door with batswing quadrants between bell flower pendants, flanked in turn by glazed panels, enclosing a blue plush lined interior of three divisions, the lower stage with cross banded rectangular top over twin doors, inlaid with pedestal urns and bell flowers, enclosing two banks of six tray shelves, some with gilt stamped numbered divisions for coins or jewellery, the central upright stamped WRIGHT AND MANSFIELD, over inlaid simulated fluting upon conforming tapering square section legs, united by an x stretcher with oval platform, 37" x 12" x 76.5" (94cm x 30.5cm x 194cm).
