Lot Description
An early 20th century 18ct gold, turquoise and glass novelty pill box. Designed as a mandolin, the cranberry glass receptacle, with floral gilt overlay, to the turquoise and bevelled glass hinged lid, gold fret and headstock, suspended from a fancy-link chain. Length 8.8cms. Total weight 47.5gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>At least one string is a replacement, noticeably different to the other strings.
<li>Bubbles visible to the glass. Ruby colour is flashed overlay.
<li>Wear to the gilt floral motif.
<li>Glass with few surface scratches and minor nicks.
<li>Turquoise are a moderately well matched light blue through light medium slightly bluish green.
