An early 20th century diamond and gem-set peacock brooch. The rose-cut diamond body, with emerald wings and crest, to the ruby and seed pearl fan tail, the legs gripping seed pearls. Length 6.1cms. Total weight 14.9gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches, discolouration and small dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Alterations. Brooch fittings later added.
<li>Some replacement gems. Dents and wear to the fittings.
<li>One emerald deficient.
<li>Gems presumed foil back.
<li>Diamonds moderately well matched.
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Varied inclusions, some surface reaching.
<li>Diamonds with chips and abrasion.
<li>Emeralds vary noticeably, many emeralds chipped.
<li>Rubies vary significantly in appearance, most appear pale purplish red hue.
<li>Eye is not ruby.
<li>One pearl to the foot is drilled.
<li>Seed pearls are fairly well matched. Uneven surface, good lustre.
<li>Foreign marks to the front of the legs, marks worn, indistinct.
