A late Victorian 18ct gold opal five-stone ring. The graduated oval opal cabochon line, with rose-cut diamond spacers. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1896. Ring size O1/2. Weight 4.4gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Wear and small losses to some claws, moderate wear to the gallery and back of the band.
<li>Band with personal inscription 'Nov 6th 1897'.
<li>Diamonds fairly bright and well matched.
<li>Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight, colour or clarity assessment.
<li>Opals are well matched, with good play of colour, flashes in a range of hues.
<li>Opals are in good to fair condition with moderate abrasion. One of the smaller opals is noticeably chipped.<p>
