Lot Description
An early 20th century platinum, diamond and ruby brooch. Of openwork design, the old-cut diamond and calibre-cut ruby cluster, suspended from a rose-cut diamond bow within an old and rose-cut diamond looping wreath and foliate surround with vari-cut ruby highlights. May be worn as a pendant. One diamond deficient. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1ct. Length 5.1cms. Weight 12.5gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>One rose-cut diamond deficient.
<li>Glue visible to one mount.
<li>Drop deficient to outer bow, slight rough area remains.
<li>Jump rings to allow wear as a pendant appear later, one with French assay marks.
<li>Diamonds well matched.
<li>Principal diamonds with moderate inclusions, some surface reaching, most appear SI2-P1 clarity.
<li>Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate weight, colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Some small nicks and chips to the rose-cut diamonds.
<li>Rubies appear a well matched medium deep purplish red hue. Typical inclusions.
