Lot Description
A mid 20th century Scots Guard diamond, gem and enamel regimental brooch. The green gem and enamel thistle, with green enamel 'Nemo Me Impune Lacessit' motto halo, inset to the single-cut diamond cross and feathered surround. Estimated total diamond weight 1.25cts. Length 3.1cms. Weight 7.7gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Replacement fittings. Discolouration visible to the fittings and to the front of the mounts where the pin hinge attaches.
<li>Soft solder visible to the reverse of the central boss.
<li>Diamonds bright and well matched.
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Diamonds with few, minor, scattered inclusions. No obvious chips or abrasion.
<li>The green gems appear a well matched, vibrant yellowy green hue. Minor to significant abrasion and small nicks. One is more significantly chipped.
<li>Unable to test gems due to setting. Gems may be paste.
<li>Enamel to the motto surround has a small chip at the I of IMPUNE.
