Lot Description
An early 20th century 18ct gold gem-set hare cane handle. Modelled as the head of a hare, with textured fur and circular-shape ruby eyes. French assay marks. Length 7cms. Total weight 36.4gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and small dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Minor sign of soft solder near one of the eyes.
<li>Rubies possibly synthetic however due to restrictive setting this is not diagnostic, further testing would be required.
<li>Rubies are fairly well matched, medium red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Rubies are in fair condition with abrasion and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges, one more abraded than the other with significant chips.<p>
<li>Possibly replacement gems.
<li>Width 6.6cms.
