Lot Description
A mid Victorian 18ct gold blue enamel and gem-set locket. Of oval outline, the blue enamel and diamond point lattice, with split pearl spacers and engraved highlights, to the glazed reverse. Length 3.2cms. Weight 6.8gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Possible replacement split pearls.
<li>Glazed panel with enclosed lock of hair.
<li>Diamonds well matched.
<li>Diamonds fairly bright.<p>
<li>Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of diamond points prevents accurate carat weight, colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Split pearls are well matched, creamish white colour, with pink and green overtones, in good condition with minor abrasions, small chips.<p>
<li>Blue enamel in good condition, few small chips near the edges.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
