A late Georgian gold garnet necklace. The oval-shape foil-back garnet cross, detachable from the slightly graduated oval-shape foil-back garnet chain, with concealed push-piece clasp. Length of pendant 6.5cms. Length of chain 40cms. Weight 27.9gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and small dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Evidence of repair/ alteration to clasp, soft solder visible. Some links towards back of chain with base metal extended spacers.
<li>Cross with later base metal backing bars.
<li>Garnets are a medium deep pinkish-red, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Garnets are in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>
