Lot Description
An early 20th century 12ct gold tourmaline and split pearl pendant. Designed as a circular-shape purple tourmaline and split pearl cluster, with split pearl floral openwork surround and surmount. May be worn as a brooch. Tourmaline weight 1.40cts. Length 3.2cms. Weight 7.8gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition good. Surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Surmount is a later replacement, soft solder is visible.
<li>Tourmaline is a medium pinkish purple hue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Tourmaline is in good condition with some minor nibbles to the facet edges.<p>
<li>Split pearls are a creamy white hue. Good condition with some pitting and slight discolouration.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
