Lot Description
A late Georgian 18ct gold chatelaine. Comprising three fancy-link chains, with graduated bi-colour gold engraved panel spacers, suspending three near-period fobs, an urn and locket. Length 26cms. Total weight 47.8gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Urn charm significantly damaged with dents, tears and losses including one of the handles.
<li>Longer rock crystal fob is not engraved. Minor nicks.
<li>Shorter rock crystal fob engraved with an eye, a feather and the word 'truth' to mean I pen/write truth. Surmount later adapted.
<li>Carnelian seal engraved to depict a cockerel and a woman holding something, possibly grapes.
<li>Mourning locket is gold plated, plate is worn. Later engraved to inside of the lid 'Ellen Du Pontet, nee de La Harpe, 12. Oct. 1845., 29, Fev 1932.'
