Lot Description
A late Victorian 18ct gold Scottish Luckenbooth garnet and split pearl pendant. Of openwork design, the engraved stylised heart and crown, with alternating split pearl and circular garnet cabochon surround. Length 5.6cms. Weight 13.4gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Slight discolouration to reverse.
<li>Replacement brooch fittings and later surmount fitting.
<li>Soft solder can be seen.
<li>Split pearls are a fairly well matched, white to creamy white colour, with faint rose and green over tones.
<li>Spilt pearls in good to fair condition with minor natural blemishes. Two with slight nacre damage.<p>
<li>Garnets are in a closed back setting, presumed foil back.
<li>Garnets appear a well matched, slightly purplish red hue, well saturated.
<li>Garnets in good condition with minor abrasion.
<li>Width (at widest) 3.5mms.
<li>With safety chain.
<li>May be worn as a brooch.
