BUCCELLATI (adapted) - a mid 20th century ruby brooch.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Shows evidence of repair/alteration, soft solder can be seen to collets.

<li>Holes on each leaf due to the removal of the previous mounts.

<li>Rubies and collets later additions to the Buccellati piece.

<li>Discolouration where the ruby collets join the brooch.

<li>Rubies good to fair condition with fair to moderate abrasion, small nicks and chips.

<li>Two of the rubies are chipped along a surface reaching feature.

<li>Rubies vary, most appear purplish red hue, variation in tone, saturation and level of inclusions. Some with profuse inclusions, many surface reaching, appearing cloudy.

<li>Estimated diameter of largest ruby 4.5mms.

<li>Estimated diameter of smallest ruby 3.8mms.

<li>Width (at widest) 3.8cms.

<li>Later French marks to the pin.
