Lot Description
A late Victorian silver and gold, diamond and gem-set bee brooch. The vari-cut diamond bee, with oval-shape green garnet abdomen and ruby eyes, atop a diamond and seed pearl terminal openwork bar. Estimated old-cut diamond weight 0.10ct. Length 4.3cms. Weight 4.4gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Possible replacement gems.
<li>Diamonds well matched.
<li>Diamonds bright.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate weight estimation and colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Diamonds generally with few minor inclusions under 10x magnification, some with small dark inclusions.
<li>Garnet is a medium slightly yellowish green hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Seed pearls untested for natural origin.
<li>Seed pearls are a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtones.
<li>Rubies well matched.<p>
<li>Stones generally in good condition with minor abrasion, one ruby with some moderate abrasion to one side.
<li>Length of bee 1.8cms.
