Lot Description
An early 19th century gold cameo brooch. Of oval outline the agate cameo carved to depict a lady in profile, with split pearl, single and rose-cut diamond surround and glazed reverse. Signed Pestrini. French assay marks. Length 6cms. Total weight 23.6gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Glazed panel reverse later addition, possible replacement gems.
<li>Small areas of soft solder visible, signs of alteration/ repair.
<li>Diamonds fairly well matched.
<li>Diamonds fairly bright.<p>
<li>Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate carat weight, colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Agate is in good condition with minor surface abrasions.<p>
<li>Signed for Pietro Pestrini.
<li>Some areas of the later added mount are testing as low karat gold.
