A late Victorian gold gem-set snake necklace. The textured snake head with garnet cabochon eyes and turquoise cabochon line crest, to the graduated snake-link chain. Length 38cms. Weight 27.7gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Glue residue visible to some turquoise, possibly replacements.
<li>Vacant suspension hoop to snake's mouth.
<li>Turquoise are a well matched, greenish-blue hue.<p>
<li>Turquoise are in good to fair condition with small abrasions, few nibbles to the girdle.<p>
<li>Garnets are a well matched, medium orange hue, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Garnets are in good to fair condition with small abrasions, few nicks.<p>
<li>Mark to reverse of snake indistinct.
